# Inherit

The `Inherit` authentication type will attempt to inherit its authentication settings from the first parent whose type is not also `Inherit`. If it fails to find such parent, it will default to [none](https://docs.ostara.dev/documentation/authentication-settings/types/none "mention"). This type requires no parameters.
